Cactus Tv Cozumel Photography workshop: photo documentary of baby turtles on the beach !

You will learn about the correct exposure times during dawn, documentary style
point of views / perspectives, close-ups and how to capture the first movements of those lovely little creatures and their release into the ocean.

With this workshop Cactus TV provides Photography Certifications.
The class includes the theory of photography (brief introduction), Tati´s professional guidance on the location and a final review & discussion of the students photo results.

Participants just have to bring their own (digital or film) camera, beachware, mosquito repellent and plastic gloves.
Every year from April till September – thousands of Loggerhead turtles and green turtles arrive at night at Cozumel´s "east side" to lay their eggs on this beautiful wild beach.
52 days later the new baby turtles are ready to begin their life in the ocean.
And again after approximately 20 years the pregnant turtles will find their way back to the island Cozumel, to the spot where they have hatched earlier. They dig a hole in the sand about 1 meter deep to lay all their eggs. A turtle can lay up to 120 eggs !
We don´t take photos while they lay their eggs – as it is at night and we would have to use flashlights – and this might disturb these sensitive animals.
The government (department SEMARNAT) of Mexico set up several protection programs for sea turtles. Cozumel has one of 28 official centres that protect and conserve the turtles of the Caribbean sea. Their biologists allow us (Cactus TV) to accompany them at their important work : taking care of the turtle eggs and releasing the baby turtles into the sea. While improving your photography skills you will also be able to help the biologist team - under their professional instructions, to prevent any harm to the baby turtles.

With this Certification you are anable to work as a Semi Professional Photographer.

If you like to be a Professional Photographer you have to stay with us for at least 3 years.
